Origin

Winter Street Ventures (WSV) is a Boston-based venture capital firm investing in tech-enabled healthcare and AI-driven companies that are reengineering how care is delivered, financed, and experienced.

WSV was founded by Chris Palmieri in 2016 as the venture capital affiliate of Commonwealth Care Alliance (CCA). Following CCA’s acquisition by CareSource in April 2025, Palmieri purchased WSV and relaunched it as an independent investment firm headquartered in Boston. WSV is now raising Fund I LP, its first institutional fund as an independent firm.

Founder

Chris Palmieri brings more than 30 years of healthcare leadership to Winter Street Ventures, including five as Chief Executive Officer of Commonwealth Care Alliance. He has served as CEO of six $1B+ healthcare companies, two of which he scaled to $3B in revenue. He led Remedy Partners through its $405M acquisition by Signify Health (later acquired by CVS for $8B) and founded the health insurance division at VNS Health, where he drove $2.5B in topline revenue and returned $1B in surplus dividends across his 10-year tenure. At WSV, Chris has invested in 10 healthcare companies generating a 5.2x gross multiple on invested capital, including early-stage positions in Cityblock Health, Lynx, and instED. His operator credentials — across payers, providers, and government programs — give portfolio companies a vantage point that generalist venture investors cannot match.
